DIY Proejcts Not Getting Priority
Over the Easter weekend there will be a number of people tackling DIY projects and I will certainly be one of them. But while it is fun to carry out certain projects, other maintenance projects are not so much of a joy to undertake. Due to this people are ignoring jobs that should be given priority. A survey has revealed that only 15% of people check their chimney stack and 21% have said that they never check their chimney stack. A fault in the stack can cause a serious damp problem that could cost upwards of a thousand pounds to fix. Damp proofing is very importantly but you must remember to look for damp problems in places that are hard to reach. In the same survey it has been reported that 10% of people never check their roof for missing tiles. This again can have serious repercussions for home and this sort of negligence may not be covered by your insurer.
The importance of tackling these types of job must be realised by the general public, as you do not want your house to start crashing around you. Anyway if you act now, you can save yourself paying out a fortune later. For more information on this story visit this link.
